Transportation Policy

To comply with the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities involving Animals) Regulations 2018, we have policies and procedures in place to ensure safe transportation of dogs, to ensure that they are protected from any pain, suffering, injury or disease.

Emergency transport by vehicle – vehicle usedEmergency Contacts’ vehicles or License Holders alternative car
Housing of dogs during transport – harness / guard / crateGuarded area at rear of license holders vehicle for two dogs; harnesses attached to seatbelts for accommodation of emergencies in any car    
Housing of dogs during transport – temperature and ventilationAir conditioning and open windows in warm weather and heaters and blankets in cold weather.      
Cleaning and disinfection of transportVehicle disinfected weekly internally and cleaned externally monthly.     
Minding of dogs while in a vehicleDogs never be left in any vehicle alone at any time whether travelling or stationery  
Hydration of dogs while in transportA water container and bowls will be stored in vehicle.  
Toilet breaks for dogs in transportDogs will not be transported for long distances, but will in any case receive toilet breaks before and after any necessary transport.  Should it be necessary to transport a dog for a long distance, regular hourly toilet breaks will be provided.
